Inspired by the lowrider culture of New Mexico and the Dayton Wire Wheels logo, Filter Skateboard Shop (RIP) and myself designed a collection that included a skateboard deck, T-shirt, hoodie, baseball cap, and a photo ‘zine.
Let Them Do was an art exhibit and community event to benefit Dream Tree Project, who offer a transitional living program and resources for young people in Taos County. Sponsored by Vans the artists were each given a pair of white “authentic” shoes to incorporate into their artworks.
Studio Stories was a editorial series for the Taos Gallery Guide, a tiny yearly publication done by The Taos News. I served as “one-man-band” on this particular issue, serving as Art Director, Designer, Photographer, and production slave all at once. Fun as hell though.
Back in 2018, Larry Bell was coming off an incredible year of shows and projects across the globe, and now he was to be showing these new works in his own backyard at the Harwood Museum in Taos, New Mexico, and he wanted the art world to know. He purchased a double page spread in local arts and culture magazine Trend, and a full page in International art magazine, ARTFORUM… on his own dime, a true legend.
Sweet Heart Label began as childhood dream to make clothing, in particular, T-shirts. Witty, thoughtful, and, yes, sexy T-shits… full of inside jokes, and inspiration from the pop-culture inescapable. Well, after a stint working at a local screen printing shop, I finally cut my teeth with apparel. Learning screen printing, embroidery, direct-to-film, everything… A personal passion project to share with my son and my skateboarding kin. More to come.
